Metamorphosis - Practical

Where are your diary entries?

The Family at Breakfast:
Today I worked with River to create a short scene of the Family at Breakfast (Page?) . The basic idea of the scene was to give the impression the family do the same thing day after day in an almost ‘Robotic’ style to show that the family do the ame thing every morning so it has become an almost automatic thing for them to do. The characters had to show concern as Gregor has not awoken.
We first decided to place two chairs stage left and stage right; this would give the audience a good view of the action on stage. This is not a relevant comment. What is the impact of doing this on the audience? What do the proxemics say about the relationships?  We then decided to do all the movements in a robotic manner, this mean we did it to the ticking of the clock. Each tick was a different movement, 1: Cut Forward - 2: Cut back – 3: Stab food – 4: up to mouth 5: Hand back down. We did this three times because........and on the last time round, to show how worried we were, we looked at the audience on the 3rd tick, then up at the ceiling, then each other and back down to our food. This was to show firstly, the family was concerned and that this was unusual for them. We tried to perfect this but it was hard to get the timing right. We would start at different times and would go at different speeds so we had to work at coordinating ourselves more.
What else did you do in this scene? This is very brief.

Missing - Diary entries, Social/Historical/Cultural Chief Clerk, Chioef Clerks entrance, Transformation of Gregor,
